One billboard at the airport (ORD, by the way) had a QR code, of the 20 or 30 big ads I saw... (see below)

Placing the QR code in the bottom left of your advertisement would normally make sense, except when the display is just above the floor level... in which case you have to squat down to (somewhat awkwardly) scan the code! The site wasn't bad, but did not appear to be mobile-optimized...
