OK, so once you have started using your Dell Streak, there will be some basic things you will want to do in the beginning before you start going crazy downloading applications from Android marketplace...

• First, as mentioned in 'More Dell Streak' you want to 'root' your Streak... Find, download, and install Z4root if you want to make it easy on yourself.... Alternatives do exist...
• Install a program that allows you to boot (with multiple options) your Streak. An example would be Quickboot, but there are many others...
• Install a launcher. There are many out there, search marketplace for 'launcher' and try out the many ones available. I am currently using Zeam Launcher, the screen captures below show its (scrollable) dock bar on the right... Other launchers include ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro, and many others...
• Install a file manager, such as Linda Manager, Astro (Features: File Manager, Backup, Image and text viewers, Networking, SMB, Bluetooth, SFTP, Zip Tar, downloader, thumbnails, search files, application manager, task manager, attachments), and others....
• If you want to be able to have different wallpapers for your multiple screens download a program like Multipicture Live Wallpaper ... which gives you control (e.g. see below)
  

• Next install Quick Settings, which gives you swift access to various settings (Brightness, Ringer type, Volume control, WiFi, Network data, Bluetooth, GPS, Screen Timeout, Airplane mode, etc.) via a status bar shortcut, see below:
  

Now that you have the programs to keep your Streak looking good and under control, you have a Marketplace full of widgets, programs, etc. awaiting you... Have at it!
