As predicted, the post-mortems are beginning to proliferate and the various proponents in our recent national drama are being parsed into "the geniuses" (Obama, Biden Plouffe, Axelrod, "the people", etc.) and "the goats" (McCain, Palin, Schmidt, Davis, etc.)...
The most distasteful of these 'post-mortem' articles are those full of leaks from within the losing organization, in which the unnamed dish dirt on others in the campaign, a sort of "ego me absolvo" - in which the leaker attempts to absolve himself/herself of any blame in the defeat by laying off all responsibility on others! These "leaks" are usually catty, mean-spirited, vindictive, and impossible to tell if completely true or if made up out of whole cloth. The "journalists" who dabble in this filth and help spread this bile are unfit to hold the positions that they do.
