Recently there has been some speculation re the possibility of Senator Obama picking Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) as his running mate. This blogger has no idea re the probability of this actually happening, but he does see a certain fit there.
In his two stints as governor (Indiana) Bayh was noteworthy for doing nothing that would ruffle anyone's feathers and spending much of his time tending to his reputation and making sure no blots were on his escutcheon.... Democrat, centrist, the ultimate in gray. Lucky for him he served in economic good times and didn't have to make many hard decisions... Subsequently Bayh moved on to the Senate (1998) where he has maintained his track record i.e. more gray...
